Terms of Service
The terms that govern your firm's use of BotdoTax. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
LAST UPDATED · OCTOBER 26, 2026
1. The agreement
These Terms of Service govern your use of BotdoTax. By creating an account or using the service on behalf of a firm, you agree to these terms for yourself and that firm, and you confirm you have authority to do so.
2. Accounts & access
A firm's administrator sets up the firm and invites staff. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details confidential and for activity under your account. The firm is responsible for who it invites and removes, and for the access it grants.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload information you have no right to process, or use BotdoTax for anything unlawful;
- attempt to access another firm's data or probe, scan or disrupt the service;
- upload malware or files designed to harm the service or other users;
- resell or provide the service to third parties outside your firm without our agreement.
4. Customer data
The firm owns the data it and its clients put into BotdoTax. You grant us the rights needed to host, process and display that data to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the permissions and giving the notices the law requires to process your clients' information.
5. AI extraction & professional judgment
BotdoTax uses AI to read documents and suggest form types, tax years and field values. These suggestions can be wrong.
6. Client portal links
Client portal links work without a login: anyone who has a link can upload documents for that client. Share each link only with its client, and contact us promptly if a link may have been exposed.
7. Fees
Fees, billing periods and any trial terms are shown when you sign up or in your order. Unless stated otherwise, fees are billed in advance and are non-refundable. We will give notice before changing the price of a plan you are on.
8. Intellectual property
BotdoTax and its software, design and content are owned by us and our licensors. These terms give you a limited, non-exclusive right to use the service during your subscription. Feedback you send us may be used to improve BotdoTax without obligation to you.
9. Third-party services
BotdoTax relies on third-party providers for hosting, storage, email and AI document extraction. We are responsible for the providers we choose to run the service, but not for third-party products you choose to connect or use alongside it.
10. Availability & support
We work to keep BotdoTax available and secure, particularly during filing season, but the service may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Support is available at our support page.
11. Term & termination
These terms apply while you use BotdoTax. A firm may close its account at any time. We may suspend or end access for a material breach of these terms. After closure, the firm may request an export of its data for a limited period before it is deleted, as described in our Privacy Policy.
12. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated, BotdoTax is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of AI-generated output, or uninterrupted operation, to the extent the law allows.
13. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for penalties, interest or losses arising from returns or filings you prepare. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the firm paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date and notify firm administrators of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use BotdoTax after that means you accept the updated terms.
